League Divisions:

All players compete in one division, using a handicap so that all players are equally matched.  Anyone can win any given week.  A novice can beat a pro.  A lady can beat her significant other.  Anything can happen.  Just shoot better than you usually do, and you have a shot at winning.

For your first two weeks played, your initial handicap is 80% of:

If you have EVER played Pro at ANY event: 0
If you have EVER played Advanced at ANY event: -1
If you have EVER played Intermediate (Am2) at ANY event: -2
If you have NEVER played in a tournament in or above the Am2 level:
-3

The week after you have played 2 times,  your handicap is calculated as: 80% of the difference between your average score and the overall average of all scores.

At the end of the round, your handicap is combined with your actual score to create your adjusted score.  The lowest adjusted score wins that week, 2nd lowest is 2nd place, etc.

Each week, points are awarded in a 1-up fashion (you get one point for each player you beat or tie, including yourself). The series winner is determined by adding the points from each player's ten best finishes (as measured by most points). Overall award ceremony to be held at the end of the final week: 09/20/04.

League Costs:

$5 per player for any given week.  $4 of your entry gets paid back out that very week.  Payout is to the top 40% (for fields of 18+) per the 2004 PDGA Pro Payout Tables.

The other $1 goes to the trophy fund, to pay for awesome laser-engraved hardwood golf disc replica trophies from Display Your Disc.  We will purchase as many trophies as the fund will allow, and pay down as many places as possible.  The trophies cost approximately $80 each.

Optional $1 progressive ace pot (see YTD Stats for current ace pot and trophy fund values).

Awards:

Each week cash prizes will be awarded, as well as CTPs and/or LPs if donations come in.  A 20% portion of the entry fees will go to pay for awesome hardwood golf disc replica trophies from www.DisplayYourDisc.com.  A 1-up points system will be assigned to compute overall series leaders.  Trophies will be awarded to top overall finishers.  A player’s best 10 finishes will be used to compute their point total.  Ties for trophy positions will be played off for: holes 1,2,3,4,12, repeat (subject to change to 1,2,3,4,11,12, repeat based on possible course layout modification).

Layout: standard 12-hole permanent layout:

Out-Of-Bounds: standard 12-hole tournament OBs:  All pavement, asphalt, and metal (HVAC units, shipping containers, sidewalks) is OB (not teepads), except the curb itself is in bounds where it meets the in-bounds grass.  (OB line is where curb that adjoins in-bounds meets parking lot asphalt.  That’s why curb leaners touching the OB line curb are IN BOUNDS).  On or in any structure or vehicle (tractors, buses, church buildings, homes, NEVER CLIMB ON ROOFS OR TRESPASS!) is OB at any height.

  • Hole 1: OB Anywhere in parking lot, including barked tree “islands”.  OB Across the fences.

  • Hole 2: OB Across the fences, on or beyond the paved road, including on the grass on the far side of the paved road (church driveway).

  • Hole 3: OB On or beyond the road, various concrete and metal near buildings

  • Hole 4: MUST DROP ZONE!  ANY OB DRIVE, move to drop zone (within 2m of manhole cover at edge of lawn), and take what is now your 3rd shot.

  • OBs are simple here: you must clear the road, sidewalks, parking lot, or lay up short in the grass, or you’re OB!

  • Examples: The bark island that adjoins the manicured lawn is IN, since the line is at the near edge of the near sidewalk, but:

  • The bark island that runs along the far sidewalk in the parking lot is OUT, since the line is at the FAR edge of the far sidewalk, and it’s not a curb!

  • Hole 5: The moment you throw, you’re OB!  If you never reach the gravel or further, you must re-tee your 3rd shot!

  • Don’t overthrow your upshot – the near edge of the gravel road past pin 5 along fairway 6 is the OB line!

  • Hole 6: OB Onto or beyond the gravel road along the right edge of fairway 6.  NO MANDO HERE, that’s for the 18-holer.

  • I suppose you might reach Capitol Hill Rd along fairway 7, don’t, the near edge of the near white fogline is the OB line.

  • Hole 7: The near edge of the near white fogline on Capitol Hill Rd along the right side of fairways 7, 8, and 9 is the OB line.  OB on or beyond the road.

  • Hole 8: The near edge of the near white fogline on Capitol Hill Rd along the right side of fairways 7, 8, and 9 is the OB line.  OB on or beyond the road.

  • Hole 9: The near edge of the near white fogline on Capitol Hill Rd along the right side of fairways 7, 8, and 9 is the OB line.  OB on or beyond the road.

  • Hole 10: OB Anywhere in the paved parking lot.  The near edge of the near sidewalk in the parking lot is an OB line.

  • Hole 11: OB Anywhere in the paved parking lot.  Then OB line becomes the far edge of the near curb along the road on to fairway 12.

  • The private property around farmer Raz’s home near pin 11 is marked with OB string and flags.

  • Hole 12: OB Anywhere on over beyond the road and/or parking lot.  The usual OB lines and rules apply.  Also,

  • The private property around farmer Raz’s home near pin 11 is marked with OB string and flags. And,    On or over the gravel road along the left edge of the fairway.  Line continues as marked as gravel road becomes walkpath.
